State

So the state meet was today. I didn't even make it to the semi-final, but I'm having a great time here. My friends are great! We're having fun just listening to music and hanging out with our coach until the tournament ends.

Expactions

Well today I went to a speech tournament. Now I had very low expatiation when I arrived at the tournament. The only time I have ever placed before had been at a novice meet, and this was varsity sectionals. I tried to have confidence in myself and just do my best. In the end I came in seventh for poetry. That means I get to go to state.

But I enjoyed the meet for several other reasons also. Reason 1: I saw two really good old friends today. One, Kevin I haven't seen since we graduated from eight grade, but somehow he still recognized me from behind. The second friend was my old friend named Joshua. He goes by Josh now. He mistook my friend for me and kind of scared her a bit, but he was really excited to find out I was there. I was surprised he even remembered me, because we haven't seen or spoken to each other since second grade.

Reason 2: All my close friends know about the situation between me and him, so I don't have to hide it anymore.

Reason 3: I have discovered for a fact that one of my "friends" does in fact dislike me. This made me happy, because I thought I was being paranoid. It may sound weird, but I prefer it this way.

Boys

I'm finally happy again, and no it's not because I finally got a date. Lately I've been talking to one of my old friends,yes it's a guy, and he has brought me back to my roots. Growing up all my friends were guys. Freshman years the majority of my friends were guys. Last year most of my friends were girls. Now I'm a junior, and I'm reverting and spending more time with my male friends. And you know what? I haven't been this happy in a long time. So here to boy-friends they can get you to stop worrying about boyfriends.
